What is Angles in the Outfield:
- The goal for the Angles in the Outfield curriculum is to create STEM curriculum for middle school students that focuses on various baseball/softball examples while also making connections to Lockheed Martin. Employees of Lockheed Martin will be visiting the students every day to talk to them about their job experiences and help support them with how they could explore different jobs in STEM.
- Every day, students will participate in new activities and topics that allow them to experiment and innovate potential ideas related to baseball and softball.
- Some key lessons that students will learn about are trajectory of ball flight, aerodynamics, biomechanics, coding, engineering design process, baseball analytics, and STEM jobs at Lockheed Martin. At the end of the camp, students will be presenting on some innovative ideas in small groups that focus on topics that are covered over the course of the week.
